Bowds eager to bounce back

29 August 2016

Dean Bowditch insists MK Dons will learn and improve from Saturday’s disappointing result to Peterborough United.

Bowditch and Co slipped to their second league defeat of the campaign after rivals Posh made the most of two set-pieces to take all three points on a frustrating afternoon at Stadium MK.

“Frustration is the word to sum it up,” Bowditch told MK Dons PlayerHD.  “All over the pitch we just weren’t getting close enough and we weren’t affecting their play. We weren’t creating much and we weren’t stopping them from creating chances either.

“The first goal is so important. Too many times we’ve gone one goal behind and then struggle to get back because teams are just sitting back. It’s something we need to look at very quickly – we can’t keep conceding first but if we do, then we need to work out how to get back into the game.”

“Hopefully, though, we can start getting some results for the fans because they deserve it.”

“It’s important we watch the game back and analyse it – we can’t just go about our business on Monday and pretend it didn’t happen.

He continued: “It’s as frustrating for the fans as it is for us. You can see that we’re frustrated on the pitch and we’re trying our best but at times it’s just not good enough.
