Boss after Stadium MK success

27 August 2016

Karl Robinson is looking for his MK Dons side to collect their first home victory of the season, this afternoon at Stadium MK.

Robinson’s Dons entertain rivals Peterborough United later today looking to build on a 1-0 success at Rochdale last weekend by picking up their first home triumph of the campaign. Kick-off is at 3pm.

“Getting that win here is the one that’s still eluding us,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD.

“This hasn’t been a great place for us over the last six months but hopefully we can start making it a fortress again - we’ve got to make sure teams come here and fear us again."

“We need to make sure we put a performance in on Saturday that will ensure the fans go home happy.”

“We don’t need to put any more effort into this game because my players are putting in maximum effort already. We perform to the best of our ability every single week to try and get a result which will make the fans’ weekend.

“If we were putting an effort into this game then we’d be doing a disservice to those who pay every single week to watch us.

Robinson added: “Sometimes people look for managers to hype a game up but I don’t think we need to because the importance of it to the fans is there to all to see.

Robinson, though, has played down the affair and insists he and his team want to win the game just as much as any other.

Today’s clash is one of great importance to the supporters given the rivalry that has developed over the years between the Dons and Peterborough.
