For the first time since 2013, MK Dons kept a clean sheet in their first game of the season but only this time did it lead to a victory – much to the delight of right-back George Baldock.
Baldock was delighted with the outcome. He told MK Dons PlayerHD: “It was brilliant from the boys. Everyone worked their socks off and we’re delighted with the three points.
Baldock and Co will look to build on their opening-day success when they entertain Millwall this Saturday - tickets for the Stadium MK clash are priced from £22 adults, £17 over-65s, £17 under-21s (members only) and £7 under-18s.
To purchase tickets click here, visit the Box Office at Stadium MK/kiosk at centre:mk or call 0333 200 5343. Tickets will be available to buy right up until kick-off.
He added: “It turned out to be a really good day.”
“I can only recall that last-ditch tackle Joe (Walsh) made to get us out of trouble but apart from that, it was just shots from distance and we all know Dave’s handling is brilliant – he rarely parries or spills anything.”
“With the information we got from our analyst Ben (Pope) and the manager, we came up with a game plan which worked and we were able to nullify their attacks.
“We showed how solid and compact we can be (as a back four). I thought the two centre-halves were excellent and won most things in the air.
