Agard's thankful after debut brace

15 August 2016

Despite featuring for six different clubs, Kieran Agard hadn’t netted a debut goal before Saturday’s clash with Millwall – his first appearance for MK Dons.

That all changed, however, 28 minutes into his Dons bow and just 60 seconds after the visitors had extended their lead to two goals through David Worrall’s fierce first-time finish.

“I received the ball on the edge of the box, so I went to get it out of my feet and get a shot off,” Agard reflected, while talking to MK Dons PlayerHD. “It found the bottom corner and I was happy with that.”

Then, five minutes later, Agard doubled his tally.

He said: “The ball came over the top, I think, from Ed (Upson). I ran onto it, saw the keeper coming out and stopping a bit. He left me with no alternative but to put it over him. I got it over him and it went in.”

“I want to say a big thank you to the fans, the players and the staff for helping me to settle in. Everyone around the place has made me feel welcome and I feel like I’ve been playing with the boys for years.”

“I’m delighted. To go out there and get two goals, and get the result today is fantastic.

That second goal earned the Dons an important home point and capped off a dream first appearance for a man who Karl Robinson spent a club-record fee on late last week.

“(Saturday) was good because we got a good result but now we focus on Bradford. We’ll look to prepare right and hopefully get the result we need.”

Attention for Agard and Co now turns to Tuesday night’s clash with Bradford City, where the 26-year-old striker wants the Dons to maintain their positive start to the season and pick up another result. Tickets for Tuesday's Stadium MK clash with Bradford City are priced at £22 adults, £17 over-65s/under-21s and £7 under-18s, while under-12s go FREE with a Young Dons membership.
