Hickford and Hemel extend play-off gap

13 April 2016

Harry Hickford came off the bench to help Hemel Hempstead Town fight back from two goals down to earn an important point on Tuesday evening.

Hemel, in need of a positive result to extend their advantage in the National League South play-offs, trailed to St. Albans City after goals either side of half-time from the hosts.

On the hour mark, Hickford was brought on in place of Matty Spring and nine minutes later the Tudors pulled a goal back thanks to Ibra Sekajja.

They then earned themselves a draw with a stoppage-time finish from Adam Bailey-Dennis – a result which sees them move a point clear of Maidenhead United and Dartford with three games left to play.

Hickford and Co host Oxford City at Vauxhall Road this weekend, knowing they may need to come out on top with their two closest rivals in action against teams in the bottom half of the table.
