Fulham defeat frustrates Robbo

4 April 2016

Karl Robinson was left feeling frustrated after his side’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Robinson’s Dons fell behind in West London but pulled themselves level thanks to Josh Murphy’s delightful chip, before Alex Revell had a goal controversially ruled out for offside.

Had it stood, that finish would have had the men from MK1 ahead with only 19 minutes left to play but instead it was the Cottagers who would score a decisive third goal, pouncing on a second defensive error.

“My players have worked hard but, in the end, two errors have cost us,” Robinson said.

“We’ve gone to Craven Cottage against top players and not really been cut open – most of their efforts were from distance.

“Also, at 1-1, against a very good side, we've had a good goal wiped off. It was onside and that’s frustrating.”

.” mkstadium “This means a lot to us so we'll never stop. We want to be at this level next year and we’re good enough to be here too. Things just aren’t quite going for us right now, so all we can do is dust ourselves off and go again on Tuesday night at

He continued: “We've been dealt a very harsh card again but we need to keep together. We've got to hold our nerve and we have to continue to work hard for each other.”

“The fans were outstanding. There was nearly 2,000 there and, actually, it was quite difficult at the end seeing them applaud us – it was hard for us because we feel like we’ve let them down.”

The Dons were backed by over 1,800 fans at Craven Cottage – their biggest away following of the season – and Robinson was disappointed that his side couldn’t reward the superb support with a positive result.
