Club nominated for four stadium awards

27 April 2016

The Dons have been nominated in four categories at the Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards 2016.

The prestigious event aims to recognise the efforts and dedication shown by the catering, conference and events teams at every football and rugby stadium across the UK.

The Club’s Catering team have been shortlisted for the Operations Team of the Year award for their work during this season’s Sky Bet Championship campaign, as well as the Rugby World Cup.

They have also been nominated for the Best Sales or Marketing Initiative Award. The team have implemented unique ideas such as Feed the Fans, where supporters were treated to a FREE breakfast before an away fixture and the Disabled pledge, which is an in-seat service available to disabled supporters. They also provided fans with a chance to create their own product – the Concrete Cow ale pie!

Sophie Standen, Assistant Public Catering Manager, is up for the Star for the Future Award, while stadiummk has also been selected by visiting club’s directors for the Director’s Choice Award.

The awards, sponsored by Heineken, will take place at the Ricoh Arena on Thursday 2nd June.

Stadium Experience Chair Person Collette Salmon, from Liverpool Football Club, commented: “Our teams take it to the limits each year and this is a time to recognise all of those who strive to bring excellence in their venues across the UK.

“Congratulations and best of luck to all of this year’s award nominees – we look forward to announcing the results on 2nd June!”
