Boss wants Dons to restore pride

13 April 2016

Karl Robinson wants his Dons side, at the very least, to restore some pride in the remaining three-and-a-half weeks of the season.

Robinson’s men are nine points adrift of safety in the Sky Bet Championship with five games remaining but, while the Dons boss understands the difficult situation him and his team find themselves in, he doesn’t want his players to give up hope.

"First and foremost we’re still not relegated,” Robinson said. “I understand the predicament we're in – it doesn't look great, and it looks extremely difficult that we'll be able to pull something out the bag, but we have to still believe.

“We've also got to restore some pride. Whether that's enough to keep us up or not remains to be seen but we have to do that in one way, shape or form.”

“I know how good we can be. It's about us learning from this season, not burying our heads in the sand, and using it as an opportunity to grow.”

He continued: “It has been difficult this season because we've lost a lot, but we've come out with the same mentality and belief as always. Robinson's men travel to Deepdale on Saturday to face Preston North End - tickets are priced from £24 adults and £8 juniors, while travel is available at £20 adults and £19 all other supporters.
