Sam Gallagher has been selected in England’s squad for the upcoming Under-20 Elite Cup.
The striker on loan from Southampton will join up with the Young Lions at St. George’s Park on Sunday, before flying out to Germany for the tournament. He is one of the six 'over-age' players included in Keith Downing's 23-man squad.
England will play the Netherlands on Wednesday 7th October at Arena Heidenheim before facing Turkey three days later at Donaustadium Ulm. Their final fixture for the Young Lions is against the hosts, Germany, on Tuesday 13th October.
Gallagher becomes the second player to receive international recognition this week, following on from Lee Hodson's call-up to the Northern Ireland squad.
