Robinson wants response

24 September 2015

Karl Robinson has called for a response from his players following the Capital One Cup defeat to Southampton.

The Dons were beaten by the Premier League side at stadiummk on Wednesday and boss Robinson wants his side to make amends this Saturday lunchtime when they entertain Derby County.

“For as embarrassed as the players feel they have a chance straight away to put it right,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD.

“It was a disappointing scoreline and I don’t think we deserved even a goal. We were way off it and we looked lethargic in an awful lot of our play.

“I thought the fans were sensational. They supported us in their thousands and I told the players afterwards that the only way they can pay them back is by performing well on Saturday.”

He continued: “We play in front of the Sky cameras on Saturday lunchtime and I know we’ll play better than that. The team will be different – there will be a number of players that will come in and they’ll be fresh.

“They players have got to pick themselves up and respond in the right way and I know they will.”

Tickets for Saturday's lunchtime clash with Derby County are priced from £25 for adults, £17 for over-65s and under-21s, £7 for under-18s while under-12s can go FREE with a Young Dons membership!
