Diego Poyet says the Dons aren’t fazed by their September fixtures, including this Saturday’s trip to Middlesbrough.
“People will look at the next five games and see them as tough but we’re buzzing for them,” Poyet told MK Dons PlayerHD. “We want to play in all the games but these ones especially are massive.
“We’re all excited and confident that we can pick up results. We were all disappointed by the result before the break but we’re all looking forward to putting things right by hopefully getting a result on Saturday.”
The Dons are going into this month’s set of games without influential midfielder Darren Potter, who is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks with a knee injury.
Poyet has featured alongside the 30-year-old in both of his league starts since moving to Milton Keynes and knows what a loss he will be to the side.
“I’ve enjoyed playing with Pottsy and he’s helped me out a lot. He’s spoken to me on and off the pitch and helped me with getting used to how the team play.
“It’s a huge blow to the team to be without him because we all know how important he is but if I’m going to step up and help the team, it’ll have to be now.”
He continued: “I’m reasonably pleased with my performances but I’m always looking to improve and help the team. Everyone here is the same – we’re just looking forward to improving every game we play and trying to get the right results.”
