Lee looking forward to qualifier

4 September 2015

Lee Hodson is back in the international fold and the right-back is relishing the chance to help his country edge closer to Euro 2016 qualification.

Hodson joined up with Northern Ireland last week ahead of their important clashes against the Faroe Islands and Israel, the first of which takes place in Toshavn this evening.

Michael O’Neill’s side currently occupy second place in Group F, two points clear in the automatic qualification places.

“We’re doing well,” Hodson told MK Dons PlayerHD. “We’re one point behind top and if we win these two games and results go our way elsewhere who knows where we could be – we could be near enough qualified!

He continued: “It’s nice to be back involved, personally. Last year I missed out quite a bit because of my ankle injury so it's nice to be back in the squad and around the lads. Hopefully I can work to get my spot back and become a regular again.”

Hodson's Northern Ireland take on the Faroe Islands tonight at 7.45pm live on Sky Sports 5.
