Robbo: We didn’t reach our standards

21 October 2015

Karl Robinson says his players fell below their standards in Tuesday’s defeat at Huddersfield Town.

The Dons, in search of successive league victories, were beaten 2-0 by the Terriers at the John Smith’s Stadium, with both second-half goals coming direct from defensive mistakes.

“We’ve not played to the standards we’ve set,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD. “We fell below our standards and we probably deserved to be beat. People might say we did okay but okay isn’t good enough for us.

“We gifted them two easy goals. We know we were way below par and that can’t happen again. It proved that if we come off it then we’ll lose football matches. We need to eradicate the mistakes from our game, improve and get better.”

He continued: “We’re in a dog fight but we feel if we do the right things and work hard then we’ll kick on from here.”
