Robbo relishing Loftus Road return

23 October 2015

Karl Robinson and the Dons have fond memories of Loftus Road but the Liverpudlian is expecting Saturday’s visit to be a difficult one.

In January 2013, Robinson’s Dons, then of League 1, pulled off an almighty FA Cup upset by beating the then-Premier League outfit 4-2 on their own patch thanks to an Armand Traore own goal and strikes from Ryan Lowe, Ryan Harley and Darren Potter.

Now, though, the two sides go head-to-head as equals in an important Sky Bet Championship fixture for both clubs and Robinson says he and his group are looking forward to the challenge.

“This is the most difficult match we will have had against QPR,” the Dons boss said. “We’ve always played QPR as a League 1 side against a Premier League team and this time we’re going in as equals, which brings with it different pressures.

“They’ve got a wealth of a talent and on any given day, they can beat anybody. Chris is an unbelievable football person and is someone I have known and respected for many years.”

He continued: “We know we’re going to have to bring our ‘a-game’ but we’re looking forward to the afternoon.”

Tickets for Saturday's clash at QPR are no longer available to buy- here's how you can stay in touch with the action!
