Robbo: Players deserved that

5 October 2015

Karl Robinson says his side’s draw away at Bristol City on Saturday ‘felt like a victory’.

Daniel Powell struck deep into stoppage-time to earn the Dons an important point at Ashton Gate, one which lifts them four places in the Sky Bet Championship table and gives them something to build on during the international break.

“It’s a great way to go into the break,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD: “It feels like a win and my players have deserved that - we’ve had a difficult two weeks and I’m immensely proud of them.

“I thought we were poor first half and they were dominant in so many areas. I spoke to them for a good 10 minutes at the break. I told them what it takes to play for this Club - what are principles and beliefs are.

“We tweaked some bits as well to try and get different people more involved and they players responded. In the end, we deserved it.”

He continued: “We made a great start to the season but a defeat against Birmingham before the first international break meant we went away flat. Now, we’ve not won in five, nicked a point last minute and I feel on top of the world.”

Next up for Robinson’s Dons is a Sky Bet Championship clash with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday 17th October – tickets are priced from £25 adults and £7 under-18s, while under-12s go FREE with a Young Dons membership.
