The current campaign is only three months old but the Football League have already confirmed the start and end dates for next season.
For the Football League’s 72 clubs, the 2016/17 season will commence on the weekend beginning Saturday 6th August and run through until the 6th/7th May 2017.
As per usual, there will be a full festive programme with match dates scheduled for Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and Bank Holiday Monday on 2nd January.
2016/17 key dates:
6th August 2016 – Season start
26th December 2016 – Boxing Day fixtures
31st December 2016 – New Year’s Ever fixtures
2nd January 2017 – New Year Bank Holiday fixtures
6th May 2017 – Season finish
