Mike Dove spoke of his pride after his young Dons side drew 1-1 with an experienced AFC Wimbledon team in the Final Third Development League.
Kevin Owusu and Kabongo Tshimanga went close for the Dons during a goalless first half, but the men from MK1 found themselves behind on 56 minutes.
Dove’s side responded well with efforts from Connor Furlong and Ben Tilney but it wasn’t until the 85th minute when their pressure was rewarded – Callum Brittain’s deflected shot finding the back of the net.
Director of Youth Dove told mkdons.com: “I’m chuffed to bits with them. They did brilliantly against a far more experience side.
“I’m really positive about the performance and the players should be too because it was a hugely encouraging one.”
