Baldock bags winner against AFC Wimbledon

12 October 2015

George Baldock scored a stunning late winner for Oxford United in their 1-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

Baldock sent a delightful 25-yard effort into the top corner with 10 minutes remaining to secure a fourth successive league victory for the U’s, who currently sit third in the Sky Bet League 2 table.

The 22-year-old right-back was making his 12th straight league start of the season, taking his career league total to 99.

Ben Tilney, meanwhile, played the full 90 minutes for Histon in their Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division clash with Slough Town.

The defender has now started six straight games for the Stutes, who fell to their first defeat in three games.

Elsewhere, Tom Hitchcock and Harry Hickford were unused substitutes for Stevenage and Torquay United respectively.

Kabongo Tshimanga and Corby Town weren't in action this weekend.
