The Dons have been ranked third in Pierate’s Pie-remiership, following their visit to stadiummk last month.
The Pierate team tried the Steak and Concrete Cow Ale Pie, which was developed in the summer with the help of a group of Dons fans and includes a local ale. They also tasted the Chicken, Gammon and Leek Pie and the Spinach, Mushroom and Ricotta Pie.
The Pierate team scored all the pies out of seven, forming their marking according to the Seven Cs - Colour, Capacity, Consistency, Condition, Chewiness, Cheapness and Content.
The Chicken, Gammon and Leek Pie was marked 6.11/7. The reviewers marked that the chicken was nice and tender, the gammon not too chewy and the leak and white sauce complemented the flavours.
The Steak and Concrete Cow Ale Pie scored 5.96/7. Pierate commented on the good quality meat and the impressive thickness of the gravy.
Finally, the Spinach, Mushroom and Ricotta Pie was rated 6.04/7. They felt it was one of the best vegetarian pies they had tasted, complementing the delicious and runny cheese sauce.
Pierate also felt that pies at the Dons are good value for money, at a price of £3.50.
All of these scores put the Dons third in Pierate's Pie-remiership table with a top score of 6.11, behind only Manchester City (6.21) and Morecambe (6.34).
