George Baldock set up two goals as Oxford United cruised to a 5-1 triumph over nine-man Stevenage on Saturday.
The full-back laid on for Alex MacDonald to make it 3-1 on 65 minutes after a surging run down the right flank, before crossing for Ryan Taylor to head home a fourth Oxford goal moments later.
Saturday’s convincing triumph moved Baldock and co up to second in the Sky Bet League 2 table, just five points behind the leaders Plymouth Argyle.
Elsewhere, Ben Tilney helped Histon keep a clean-sheet in their FA Trophy first-round qualifying tie with Stratford Town.
Histon’s defence denied the visitors any real clear cut chance on goal but they weren’t able to capitalise at the other end, resulting in a goalless draw.
The two sides will replay each other on Tuesday evening at Stratford’s DCS Stadium.
