Award-winning comedy returns!

11 May 2015

The Comedy Cow will be hosting another comedy night in the red dot bar at stadiummk on Friday.

Back in March The Comedy Cow was awarded the title “Best Small Comedy Club” in the Midlands and East by Chortle, and next week’s line-up is certainly one which will help them try and retain that.

Headlining the evening is Mike Gunn. Mike has appeared on the likes of Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1), Celebrity Deal or no Deal (CH 4), Harry Hill’s TV Burp (ITV), Al Murray’s sit-com ‘Time Gentlemen Please’ (Sky), Soccer AM (Sky 1), The Comedy Store (Comedy Central), plus many more. A self-confessed pessimist, he describes himself as “not a natural choice for a career in laughter”. He has a rare ability to walk close to the line of what audiences find acceptable and yet still remain likable and funny.

Opening the show is Tamar Broadbent, a comedian and award-winning songwriter. Her song 'Patrick' was recently featured on BBC Radio 4's 'Fresh From the Fringe', a showcase of new and exciting comedy acts from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Television credits include Zoe in Lee Nelson’s Well Funny People (BBC 2013), The Bill and Doctors.

Hosting the show is Sanderson Jones, the co-founder of the Sunday Assembly. In 2008 Sanderson Jones left his job as an advertising salesman to become a stand up. In 2012 he sold out the Sydney Opera House. Incredibly, he did this by selling every single ticket to the show by hand. What’s more, the technology loving geek researched the audience and incorporated their online lives into his show.

Also on the bill is Joey Page. Joey has spent the last few years blustering around the comedy circuit, supporting the likes of Josie Long and Noel Fielding and appearing on shows such as BBC 3’s comedy marathon, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy.

The comedy nights are strictly for adult audiences (18+) and are not suitable for the easily offended.

Doors open at 7.30pm, with the show getting underway at 8.15pm. Tickets are £10, or £8 for MK Dons season ticket holders and are available along with more details at www.thecomedycow.co.uk

Booking is advisable as these nights have consistently sold out for the last six months!
