Baldock and U’s beat Bury

10 March 2015

George Baldock played a further 90 minutes for Oxford United on Saturday as they beat play-off contenders Bury 1-0 at Grigg Lane.

The right-back, who netted a late equaliser for the U’s against Morecambe last Tuesday, helped Michael Appleton’s side extend their unbeaten run to four games with another solid performance in defence.

Oxford are now eight points clear of the Sky Bet League 2 relegation places with 11 games left to play.

Elsewhere, Harry Hickford featured in Chelmsford City’s Vanarama Conference South clash with Basingstoke.

The Dons’ first-year professional played the entire game for the Blues, who were denied a 1-0 courtesy of a last minute penalty from the visitors.

Kabongo Tshimanga, also on loan at the Essex club, entered the contest as an 81st minute replacement for former Dons youngster Mason Spence.

Winger Will Summerfield, another young Don out on loan, was a late substitution for Bedford Town in their 1-1 draw with Beaconsfield SYCOB in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central.
