HISTORY
Derby, founded in 1884, were one of the 12 founder members of the Football League in and are one of only 10 clubs to have competed in every season of the English football league system.

Incredibly, the Rams have spent all but four seasons since their formation in the top two divisions of English football. During the 1970s, they were twice English league champions and also competed in major European competitions on four separate occasions.

Derby have been in the Championship since the 2008/09 season and have finished in the top half of the table in each of the last four campaigns.

LAST SEASON
Derby, under the guidance of Steve McClaren, just missed out on a play-off place in 2014/15, finishing eighth, just one point behind Ipswich Town.

The Rams held a spot inside the top six most of the season, moving into first place on a number of occasions, but fell out on a dramatic final day – County lost 3-0 to Reading and Brentford took their place courtesy of their win.

THIS SEASON
Derby have been busy earlier this off-season and have made a number of big splashes in the transfer market.

Chris Baird, Darren Bent, Scott Carson, Alex Pearce and Andreas Wiemann are among those have made the switch to the iPro Stadium, while the Rams remain linked with the likes of Tom Ince and DeAndre Yedlin.

In terms of departures, County released a number of players including Shaun Barker, John Eustace, Jamie Ward and Zak Whitbread.
