HISTORY
Charlton were founded in 1905 when a number of youth clubs in the south east London area combined.
Turning professional in 1920, they first entered the Football League a year later and since then they have had four separate periods in the top flight of English football, the most recent of which coming between 2000–2007.
Briefly dropping into League 1, the Addicks returned to the second tier in 2012 and since then have enjoyed two top-half finishes.
LAST SEASON
Despite having two different managers during the course of the 2014/15 campaign, Charlton finished 12th in the table on 60 points.
Bob Peeters was the man in charge at the start of the season and under his leadership, the Addicks lost just twice in their first 18 games – peaking at fourth in the Championship table.
However, a disappointing spell afterwards saw him leave the Valley in January and replaced by Luzon and he and his side managed to stay away from a relegation battle by claiming eight wins from their last 16 games.
THIS SEASON
Charlton have yet to make a signing this summer, that despite allowing 15 players to leave the Valley.
Tal Ben Haim, Chris Eagles and Simon Church were among those who were let go back in May, while highly-rated young defender Joe Gomez completed a move to Premier League side Liverpool for an undisclosed fee.
In terms of potential incomings, the Addicks have been linked with Marítimo defender Patrick Bauer and striker Iombe Moyo.
