Tom Flanagan expects the Dons squad to return for pre-season in tip-top condition ahead of Sky Bet Championship football awaiting them in 2015/16.
“I imagine when we come back most will be fitter than they were last pre-season because they know it’s going to be a tougher test,” Flanagan told MK Dons Player, after signing a new one-year deal to remain with the Club.
“We went away as a team (in May) but when we got home I was straight back in the gym and sticking to my programme. I’ll be doing more of that from now until the end of June because I want to make sure I come back in really good shape like I did last year.”
While Karl Robinson’s side will, to most, be considered long-shots to enjoy any sort of success in 2015/16, Flanagan is still excited by the challenge and expects the team to pull off their fair-share of ‘upsets’.
“It’s going to be absolutely brilliant. There are some great places to go away to this season - places where we can cause a few upsets. We’ve done that for a few years now and I don’t see any reason why we can’t do so again.”
