Dean Bowditch will be one of a number of people logging onto mkdons.com on Wednesday morning to check out the 2015/16 fixtures.
“I cannot wait,” the 29-year-old told MK Dons Player after finalising his new contract. “Any team would be a big one – even if it is a side like Bristol City and Preston North End who we played last year.
“They will all be good places to go next season. We enjoyed the clubs we went to in League 1 but now we’ve gone up that level, the hairs stand up on the back of your neck just thinking about the grounds we’ll be going to.”
With plenty of ‘big’ clubs set to visit stadiummk next season, attendances are sure to rise and winger Bowditch believes that will only benefit the group and lead to better performances.
“We had nearly 17,000 here for the last game of the season and you could see the way the lads responded - we didn’t go into a shell or hide, instead it brought the best out of everyone, so just think of what it could do if and when we have that every week.
“It won’t just be more MK Dons fans coming to support us, there will be more away fans and although that will lift them, it might lift us as well.”
He continued: “(stadiummk) will be a hard place to come to next season, because we did really well last year and we’ve got some very good players – we’ll want to make it a fortress.”
The Dons' 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship fixture list will be revealed at 9am on Wednesday - stay tuned to mkdons.com for full reaction to the announcement!
