MK Dons have teamed up with Piglets Pantry and Concrete Cow Brewery to create a new pie for matchdays at stadiummk.
Stadium public catering manager Stephen Miller said: “The quality of what we offer is the most important thing for the fans. Alongside Piglets Pantry and Concrete Cow Brewery, we came up with the idea of combining the two companies to produce a steak and ale pie.
“The pie was already great but putting the local ale in it makes it even better!”
Fans Edan Thorpe and Lisa Crane said: “It was a really fun afternoon making the pies and they taste great!
“The normal selection of pies is very good but I know what I’m buying now! The fact we’ve got the pie and the lovely-tasting local ale in there as well is brilliant.”
Piglets Pantry managing director Jo Hunter, who demonstrated how to produce the pie, said: “I always love to go back to basics and show people how we started off.
“The fans did really well – I was really impressed with the way they got to grips for their first time making pies!
“They are a different taste, this one is more of a fruity lighter flavour with the Concrete Cow beer in there.”
Concrete Cow Brewery owner Dan Bonner said: “It’s been great. It was good to meet a couple of fans, join in and get involved in making and eating some tasty pies.
“It’s the perfect combination – pie, beer and football. I think it’s going to be a winner.”
A full list of the food and beverage offering for the 2015/16 campaign will be announced next week.
