There aren’t too many footballers who’d say they enjoy pre-season training but Jordan Spence is an exception.
“In a perverse sort of way, I enjoy pre-season,” he told MK Dons Player. “Just in the sense of pushing yourself as far as you can go. There’s satisfaction in, not necessarily doing it, but certainly afterwards. Doing it together as a group makes it a little easier too.”
Spence, 25, made 44 appearances in last season’s promotion-winning campaign and now the former West Ham United man is relishing the chance to play his football in the second tier.
He added: “I’m looking forward to playing in the Championship and seeing how far we can push ourselves.
“I’m just really looking forward to playing football again because the novelty wears off quite quickly when you’re not playing, watching or being a part of it.”
