Mike Dove believes his U18s side will massively benefit from their pre-season trip to Spain.
The young Dons arrived on Monday morning and took part in two gruelling days of training before facing Espanyol in a friendly on Wednesday evening.
Dove was pleased with the group’s application throughout the stay and told mkdons.com: “The players showed great attitude in training and they took that into the game.
“We trained in testing conditions and the facilities were excellent. As for the game, we started very well and played some good football in a pleasing game on the eye – some real European football was on show.
“In the end, we lost 4-0 and I was disappointed with a couple of the goals but I’m very proud of the boys. As a whole, the trip will be great for the players’ journeys.”
