Statement: Karl Robinson Commission findings

22 January 2015

MK Dons can confirm the findings of an FA Independent Regulatory Commission relating to an incident involving manager Karl Robinson during the fixture with Bradford City on 16th September 2014.

Mr Robinson has today (Thursday) been found to have used abusive and/or insulting words to a Bradford City player, in breach of FA Rule E3 (1) and that breach was Aggravated as defined in FA Rule E3 (2) by reference to the player’s nationality.

The FA have handed the 34-year-old a four-game touchline ban, which is effective immediately. He has also been fined £3,000 and ordered to undertake an education programme provided by the FA.

Mr Robinson said: “I accept the punishment and respect the Commission’s ruling, however, I maintain that I didn’t make any reference to the player’s nationality. I do apologise if I caused any offence to the Bradford City player or anyone else in relation to my use of industrial language.”

He added: “Moving forward from this, my mind is fully focused on preparing the team for forthcoming games.”

The Club won’t make any further comment on this matter.
