Robinson: Let's push on

7 January 2015

Karl Robinson has spoken of his determination to lead the Dons to a memorable 2015.

The men from MK1 sit fourth in Sky Bet League 1, just four points off top spot with two games in hand, but he insists his squad is eager to drive forward in the forthcoming months.

“If someone would have offered us this position at this stage, we would have taken it for sure. We are in a good position and we’ve got a couple of games in hand on Swindon at the top.

“I’ve never been happier at this Football Club, but I need to make sure that we keep pushing on. We are the underdogs in the top four but we won’t go down without a fight. I’m excited by 2015 and I’m hopeful that we can achieve something.”

He added: “We’ve got some really difficult fixtures coming up over January and February, but first we are really looking forward to the challenge that is Crawley.

“We’ll need to make sure that we are on our game as always. We have a game-plan which we’ve started working on.”

The 34-year-old also discussed the January transfer window. He said: “We’re constantly in contact with players and we are working behind the scenes. I would like to add two or three to the group and hopefully we can do that.

“There’s also the protection of Benik and Griggy, as well as Dele – keeping what we have would probably be our biggest result of the season.”
