Will Summerfield gained another 75 minutes under his belt for Bedford Town on Tuesday evening.
Fresh from scoring his first senior hat-trick in the 7-0 triumph over North Greenford this past weekend, Summerfield was named in the Eagles’ starting XI for their tough fixture with second-placed Bedworth United.
Despite having several chances to take the lead both in the first half and at the start of the second, it was the side from Warwickshire that netted the first and only goal of the game in the 74th minute.
Next up for Summerfield and Bedford is a trip to Daventry Town, who sit just one place below them in the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central table.
Also set to be in action this weekend are George Baldock and Giorgio Rasulo, who will both be part of an Oxford United squad that will travel down to Portsmouth for a Sky Bet League 2 match-up.
