Alli: Dons has my full attention

4 February 2015

Dele Alli has provided the Dons with many happy memories during his time at stadiummk but the midfielder says he still has one more goal to achieve before his departure.

The exceptionally-talented midfielder will leave the Football Club at the end of the current season to join Tottenham Hotspur, after he signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League outfit on Monday.

However, the Deadline Day deal saw Alli return to Milton Keynes for the remainder of the campaign as a loanee and before he has to say his goodbyes in May, the England youth international is eager to accomplish something which he says, would be a dream come true.

“I can’t thank the Club enough or really describe how much they’ve done for me,” Alli told Dons Player. “They’ve helped me so much and I’ll never forget that – they are in my heart now.

“I’ve enjoyed playing here and I’ve loved every minute. The manager and the lads have been great and I can’t thank them enough either - there isn’t a reason not to smile at the moment.

“This is a club that means a lot to me and I’m really relishing the challenge of the next few months. I just want to repay the club for what they’ve done for me and help them to get promoted - that will be a dream come true."

Alli’s decision to move to White Hart Lane put an end to many months worth of speculation regarding his future and the 18-year-old says he’s pleased everything is finally sorted

“It was really important, for me, that I got it done because there hasn’t been much sleep! My mind is a lot clearer and now I can just focus on helping the Dons get promoted. I will be giving it my all, just as I did before the move, so nothing will really change.

“It is a dream move for me. The manager (Mauricio Pochettino) played a big part as I’ve been looking to see what he’s been doing with the young players and you can see that he’s got a good philosophy of bringing them through.

“Obviously coming from here where Karl has trust in the young players and isn’t afraid to bring them on, I can see the same thing in (Pochettino) and that is something that is important to me.”

He continued: “I’m sure the Dons fans understand my decision, it was one I couldn’t turn down. I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for me – they have been unbelievable!

“This Club is on the up and they’ve got to stick by it. This is a Club I see, in a few years, being in the Premier League – I’ve got no doubts about that. They’ve got a great manager, great academy and they’re bringing through some talented kids. It’s a great club.”

Alli could be in action this Saturday when the Dons host Bristol City in a first versus second clash at stadiummk - tickets are priced at £20 for adults, £15 for over-65s, £6 for under-18s and FREE for under-12s!
