Karl Robinson believes the triumph over Sheffield Wednesday has given the whole Club a boost heading into busy Christmas period.
“There’s a tremendous a sense of optimism around the building after this,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD following the final whistle. “To dominate a top six team like we did in that first half is impressive.
“I felt the changes that we made, made a difference tactically.
“I gave Hally a start because of his attitude and I thought he was excellent. Samir gave us tremendous energy in the middle and then Diego made a difference when he came on, tightening the midfield. Nicky Maynard was phenomenal too.
“All the players deserve credit - I honestly couldn’t ask for any more from them.”
He continued: “We don’t get too down or disheartened when we drop into the bottom three and we don’t get too excited when we get out of it. We need to keep a level-headed approach and keep our foot on the gas.
“If we do maintain our focus and win some more games than we have done in the first half of the season then that’ll see us through.”
“I love this club and you can see that my players do as well. They love playing here, in front of these fans.”
“I want to say thank you to the fans. I tried to orchestrate them because they are so important.
Robinson, though, believed it was the fans’ support which motivated his side to see out the win.
The Dons were made to work for their victory, having to hold on in the closing stages after Owls substitute Gary Hooper pulled his side within one goal with 13 minutes remaining.
