Gaffer wants winner to galvanise Dons

28 December 2015

Karl Robinson hopes Saturday’s late winner will spur the Dons on to get a result at Birmingham City this afternoon.

The men from MK1 travel to St. Andrews today looking to end a memorable 2015 on a positive note and also build on that 2-1 victory over Cardiff City at stadiummk, which was secured thanks to Josh Murphy’s 90th minute strike.

“There’s nothing better than winning a game in the last minute,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD after Saturday’s success. “It can really galvanise the group and give you a platform to build on - hopefully now we can move on from here.

“We know we were totally outplayed by Cardiff in the first half but in the second we came out on the front foot and dominated the game. They scored against the run of play and the pleasing thing for me is that the players picked themselves up and won it.”

Preparations for this afternoon’s fixture, which takes place 48 hours after Saturday’s match, began immediately after the final whistle on the weekend, with Robinson and his coaching staff holding a light training session on the stadiummk pitch following the game.

“We have to steal inches where we can. We’ll prepare properly and give ourselves every opportunity to go to Birmingham and get a result.”

Tickets for today's clash at Birmingham City can now only be bought at St. Andrews, priced at £20 adults, £15 seniors/students, £10 13-18 year-olds and £5 under-18s.
