2015: Dream start to second-tier life

Next in mkdons.com’s recap of 2015 is the 4-1 victory over Rotherham United in the Club’s first-ever Sky Bet Championship fixture.

The Dons made a dream start to life in the second tier by beating the Millers convincingly at their AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Starting XI: Martin; Spence, McFadzean, Kay, Lewington (c); Potter, Carruthers; Hall (Baker 69), Reeves, Bowditch (Powell 69); Gallagher (Church 76)

Unused subs: Cropper, Hodson, Walsh, Aguza.


The Dons' dominance continued after half-time and they added some gloss to the scoreline on 75 minutes through substitute Carl Baker, who netted a stunning solo goal.

Winger Rob Hall got the scoring underway after just five minutes and although the Millers pulled level soon after through Matt Derbyshire, goals from Jordan Spence and Dean Bowditch had the men from MK1 leading by two at the break.
