Robbo full of respect for Gleeson

28 August 2015

Karl Robinson revealed his admiration for Stephen Gleeson ahead of the Birmingham City midfielder’s return to stadiummk on Saturday.

Gleeson made over 200 appearances for the Dons - 165 of which came under the Robinson's management - before moving to the Blues following the expiry of his contract in summer 2014.

“I was really sad when he went,” Robinson told the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship clash at MK1. “I had a real belief he could play at a higher level because he’s a gifted individual.

“I always have an eye on his performances and I’m so happy both he and his family are doing well.”

He continued: “I hope the fans give him the respect he deserves. He played over 200 games for this club and he was certainly here for a long time.

“Also when you score a goal from 25 yards into the top corner in an FA Cup game against AFC Wimbledon, there won’t be many people here not giving him a round of applause.”
