David Martin was pleased with the way he and his team-mates managed their Sky Bet Championship clash with Reading on Saturday.
“We’re having to manage games a little better this season,” Martin told MK Dons PlayerHD after the 0-0 draw. “We can’t just go for it like we did last year where we were expected to win most games.
“I thought we acquitted ourselves to the game very well. We still tried to play out although probably went longer a lot more than we usually do, but we were away from home at a very good team.
“To get a clean sheet at a place like this means a great deal to us. It would have been nice to have got the three points but we’d have taken us this at the start of the day.”
He continued: “We’re the minnows in this league now but we’ll give anybody a game on their day. We’ve got to keep that mentality throughout the season, not just for these first four games. We’ve got to give teams hell every week, like we have done so far.”
