Ben wants winning habit to continue

13 August 2015

Ben Reeves says its important players maintain their winning habit following Tuesday’s triumph over Leyton Orient in the Capital One Cup.

The Dons made it two victories from two to start the 2015/16 season, to follow on from winning nine of their final 10 games of the 2014/15 campaign.

“The manager said after the game it’s important to get into a winning habit,” Reeves told MK Dons Player. “It doesn’t matter how you get a win, if you get it that’s all that matters.

“Leyton Orient are a really good team and it was a good test for us. It was a lot of players’ first games as well so it was important for them that their first game was a win.

“We’ll take the positives from the game and learn from the negatives.”

Reeves, who signed a contract extension prior to kick-off on Tuesday, began the tie on the bench, as he was one of 10 changes made by manager Karl Robinson, who used the match to give some minutes to those players who didn’t feature much in the victory over Rotherham.

“The Gaffer made 10 changes tonight, which is important as it’s good to rotate the squad and keep everyone fit, and I thought they did alright.

“Sometimes it takes a while for new players to hit the ground running but I’m sure they’ll do well here as this is the sort of club that’s good for that. We train the same we play and I’m sure everyone will find their feet quite easily.”
