Dele Alli became the Dons’ first Academy product to score in the Premier League on Saturday.
“It was a dream come true,” Alli told tottenhamhotspur.com. “I wanted to score that first goal and I was so happy to do it.
“I found myself in the box and it was a natural reaction to put it in the net. I went straight over to the Spurs fans and thank them for their support.”
Alli made 76 appearances for the Dons after progressing through the youth set-up, while also scoring 20 goals. He played a key role in the 2014/15 promotion-winning campaign, playing the second half of the season on loan from Spurs.
His former boss Karl Robinson added: “I’ve text him and I’m so happy for him and his family. The kid deserves it and he’s done it all on his own.
“Inside I’m doing cartwheels for him because he means a lot to me, the staff and everyone here."
