The Dons recorded another impressive Tuesday night victory at Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night, much to the delight of manager Karl Robinson.
“We were excellent in the way we moved the ball and dominated the game,” the 34-year-old boss told MK Dons Player. “We were up against a very good side and I can’t remember giving away too many chances.
“We were without four influential players in Dean Bowditch, Ben Reeves, Samir Carruthers and Carl Baker, who was only on the bench to get some experience back under his belt.
“There are some players who haven’t featured much in Devante (Cole), Greeny (Danny Green) and Hitch (Tom Hitchcock) and they were able to get minutes as well - there is a lot to take away from this game.”
He continued: “That’s five wins and two draws in the last seven games, which just shows how high the confidence is at the moment. We’ve now got 79 points, 100 goals and 23 clean-sheets in total - this group are smashing records and they’re only going to get better.
“There is no shortcut to success and there is only working hard and I don’t think any of my players have ever put the shirt on this season and just gone through the motions.”
The men from MK1 were backed by 186 hardy supporters at Fleetwood and Robinson was eager to pay tribute to the travelling contingent.
“We understand the cost implications of coming to places like this and how late they’ll get back with work in the morning,” he added. “We really appreciate the support and I want to thank them for coming.”
Robinson's Dons are back in action on Saturday when they face Leyton Orient at stadiummk - tickets are priced from just £20 adults and £6 for under-18s while under-12s can go FREE with a Young Dons membership.
