Jordan hoping for promotion joy

29 April 2015

Jordan Spence hopes this Sunday’s game can prove to be a defining moment for the Football Club.

The Dons face Yeovil Town at stadiummk in their final game of the 2014/15 season, knowing that if they better Preston North End’s result away at Colchester United they will be promoted to the Sky Bet Championship in second place.

“We’re looking forward to it,” Spence told MK Dons Player. “It’s an exciting time of the season and we’re hoping this game is a defining one for us as players and this Football Club as well.

“Our target at the start of the season was a points target and we’re very, very close to achieving that. We’re going to try and get that and if that means we’re in the Championship next season then great, if not we’ll just continue what we’re doing in the play-offs.”

With the men from MK1 needing the Preston result to go in their favour, there will be plenty of eyes and ears keeping track of developments in Essex, but Spence insists the players will do as best as they can to remain solely focused on their main task of overcoming Yeovil.

“Focusing on ourselves is what has got us in this position in the first place. Five or six weeks away we were some points off but we didn’t worry about what others were doing, we turned up and done the business ourselves.

“When we’re playing in the game we’ll get a sense of what the Preston score is because the fans will let us know. We’re not ignoring the fact that, that result is important for us.”

Tickets for this Sunday's showdown at stadiummk are priced from £20 adults, £15 seniors and £6 under-18s.
