Dele itching to be back

3 April 2015

Dele Alli is back with the Dons and the teenage sensation says he is feeling as strong as ever.

The 18-year-old, who has scored 14 goals in 36 games this season, has spent the past six weeks receiving treatment on an ankle problem at parent club Tottenham Hotspur, but he is set for a return to action on Saturday when the Dons travel to Swindon Town.

“It’s good to be back with the lads and I’m looking forward to playing again,” Alli told MK Dons Player. “I’ve been away for a bit because of the injury but I’m feeling strong now – if not stronger.

“Training has been really good and the lads have been sharp. It’s a really exciting time competing for the promotion and we’re really looking forward to the challenge.”

The midfielder continued: “Obviously being from MK, I’d love to be a part of getting this team promoted. We’ve got a good team and I believe this year could be the one for us. We’re just taking each game as it comes, as we have done all season.”

Saturday’s opponents, Swindon, currently sit one place and one point above the Dons in the Sky Bet League 1 table but Alli insists the players are confident they can go to the County Ground and compete.

“They are a really good team but we know what we’ve got to do and hopefully we can win the game. It’s a challenge going up against good teams but there are loads of good teams and players in this league – it’s nothing I or the team are afraid of.”

Tickets for the clash with Swindon Town are now only available to buy on the day at the County Ground, priced at £27 for adults, £19 for senior and U18s and £12 for U16s.
