Charlie Burns and Harry Hickford helped loan club Cambridge City beat Burnham 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
City side took the lead in the 16th minute when Danny Kelly headed home Tom Pepper’s cross. Gary Roberts’ side then doubled their advantage just before half-time courtesy of Chris Bacon.
Burns and Hickford remained relatively untroubled at the back in their debuts and despite conceding late on they were able to help see out the victory and secure a valuable three points for their new side.
Next up for City, who moved into third place with Saturday’s win, is a home clash with Corby Town this Wednesday evening - kick-off is at 7.45pm.
