Robbo pleased for Reeves

16 October 2014

Karl Robinson has spoken of his delight for Ben Reeves after the midfielder made his international debut for Northern Ireland on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old, an unused substitute in Northern Ireland’s victory over the Faroe Islands on Saturday, replaced Shane Ferguson in the 78th minute and helped his side see out the 2-0 success in Greece.

“I spoke to a very excited Reevsy yesterday,” Robinson told the media. “I also called him on Tuesday to wish him luck and to tell him to enjoy it.

“His debut didn’t come against a minnow either, Greece are a big footballing national and there was a full house, which was great for him and shows the trust Michael O’Neill has in him.

“I’m so happy for him.”
