Randall rewarded with new deal

2 October 2014

Mark Randall has signed a contract extension which will see him remain at stadiummk until at least the summer of 2016.

The classy midfielder has put pen to paper on new two-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months.

MK-born Randall, formerly of Arsenal and Chesterfield, signed a one-year deal in the summer but manager Karl Robinson has now rewarded the 25-year-old with a new contract.

“I’m delighted to have signed a new deal,” Randall told mkdons.com. “I’m so thankful to the gaffer for the opportunity.

“I feel like I’m getting back to my best. I even thought about not playing football when I didn’t have a club last season, so the difference this year is huge and I couldn’t be more thankful.

“There’s no better place in League 1 to be and I’m more than happy to be playing for the Dons, my hometown team.

“The fans have been great to me so far and I’d like to thank them for that. I want to make them even happier by trying to help bring success here.”

Robinson added: “I think it’s important that we reward people. He wants to play for the Club, he’s very proud to be from Milton Keynes and he wants to be here for the right reasons. I think that shows how far Mark has come as an individual.

“He originally came and trained with our youth-team last year, which showed me how much he wanted this. It’s great for me as a manager and it’s great for the Football Club too.

“He’s certainly a talent and hopefully he can continue to get better and better. He’s still young and has got a lot of learning still to do.”
