Hickford features in final City game

6 October 2014

Harry Hickford played the full 90 minutes in his final appearance for Cambridge City on Saturday afternoon.

The defender, who has been loan at Bridge Road since early September, started at the back for the Lilywhites but couldn’t prevent them slipping to a 3-1 loss at home to Cirencester Town.

Goalkeeper Charlie Burns, also on loan at Cambridge, was an unused substitute.

Both players will now return to stadiummk following the expiry of their loan deals. Hickford finished with four appearances to his name, while Burns featured three times for the Southern League Premier Division side.

Meanwhile, Will Summerfield started his second successive game for Bedford Town in their clash with North Greenford.

The winger, who scored his first goal from a free-kick in Blues’ previous outing, went close with another set-piece inside the opening 10 minutes before he almost provided an assist for team-mate Aaron King midway through the first half.

Summerfield was eventually substituted in the 64th minute and the Southern League Premier Division One side went on to lose 2-0.
