Director of Youth Mike Dove says he was ‘thrilled’ to see Ben Tilney sign his first professional contract earlier this week.
Tilney put pen to paper on his deal, one which will run until June 2016, on Tuesday at stadiummk, ahead of the Sky Bet League 1 clash with Fleetwood Town
“I’m absolutely thrilled to bits,” Dove told mkdons.com. “Ben’s been with us since he was eight and to have people like him, who have been with us for 10 years, signing professionally is thrilling for us and hopefully the supporters too.
“Ben is such an exciting player on the ball, which is becoming a trademark of the players we produce here. He’s got very quick feet, he’s very intelligent on the ball and he’s bright too.
“Off the field, he’s a good pro with a fantastic attitude. He’s very level-headed as well, so he won’t get too over excited but he won’t get too down either, and that’s really important.
“I’m really proud of his achievement and hopefully it will be the start of a bright future for him.”
