Dean Lewington has been nominated for the Sky Bet Football League 1 Player of the Month award for October.
The captain led by example during the month as the Dons beat Fleetwood Town and Yeovil Town and picked up points on the road at last year’s play-off finalists Leyton Orient and Doncaster Rovers, who were playing in the Championship last term.
Lewington also played a pivotal role in keeping clean sheets in three of those four fixtures.
The 29-year-old, who is in his testimonial year at the Football Club, is up against Gwion Edwards (Crawley Town), Jonathan Forte (Oldham Athletic) and Marcus Maddison (Peterborough United).
The winner will be announced on Friday.
