Pair banned for Port Vale

5 November 2014

Defender Antony Kay and midfielder Darren Potter have been suspended for one match.

Both players collected their fifth bookings of the season in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Swindon Town and, as a result, will be unavailable for this weekend’s FA Cup first-round tie against Port Vale.

Kay and Potter will both be eligible for a return to action when Karl Robinson's side host the Valiants at stadiummk on Saturday 22nd November.

Meanwhile, manager Karl Robinson has confirmed that Dele Alli will be rested for Saturday’s clash at Vale Park.

The teenage sensation, who will link up with England Under-19s next week ahead of their friendly with Italy, has already played 18 times for the Dons this season, missing just one game.

“Dele won’t be in the squad or even travel,” Robinson told the media. “Including the pre-season games, we’ve played 29 games already this season and that’s hard going for an 18-year-old.

“We need to make sure we get it right with him, because we don’t want him falling behind. He’ll have a really good rest and we’ll kick on from there with him.”

He added: “From the team on Saturday, there could be six changes but we’ll wait and see what happens.”
